Sticky Pages: Derek Allen Watson in INK Magazine

Derek Allen Watson Ink Magazine 2011The April 2011 issue of INK Magazine features the charismatic, hot and yes (I’m biased) personal friend Derek Allen Watson. The Man Crush Blog featured Derek a couple months ago (check out that post here) and if you follow this blog (@man_crush) or Derek (@_derekallen) on Twitter you’ve probably seen the both of us keep in touch more so than most of the guys featured each month on the blog. What can I say – I love this guy. His personality, style and conquer-the-world attitude is what’s making him the “It” man on the modeling scene these days and has him on everyone’s radar. So it came as a delight to find out that Derek’s the subject of a feature and short write up in the latest issue of INK magazine. Naturally, we had to give you all a little taste of what to expect. I know after checking this out you’ll want to get your hands all over Derek. Check out these photos taken by photographer Brandon Wickenkamp for Derek’s feature in the April issue of Ink Magazine. Sticky Pages: Underwear by Timoteo Studio

Timoteo Studio UnderwearA couple of weeks ago we featured a guest post from Justin Hernandez titled What Your Flavor of Undies Say About You and it was a big hit with the blog’s readers. It was clear from that post that you guys love your underwear and are on the lookout for what’s hot and new in the field. Underwear for gay men are more than just something you slip on and forget about. They are in many ways our second skin. We’ll buy underwear with patterns, with the ass cut out, with a special pouch upfront to make our package look bigger than it may be. Underwear can make a man entirely sexy and desirable or have you cringing and having second thoughts when the pants come off and you think fireworks are about to ignite in the bed.

In an effort to make The Man Crush Blog your go-to site, I’ll try my best to offer up a bit more content geared toward fashion, underwear, accessories and other things that will make your life cum-plete. The other day on Twitter someone tweeted and asked me where one could find or purchase a sexy jockstrap or underwear that you wouldn’t come across in say, Target or Walmart. That made me think not so much about where you can buy underwear but brands that you should be on the lookout for.

The first that comes to mind that should be on your radar is Timoteo‘s line of underwear and accessories. Timoteo Ocampo runs the company that’s based out in Los Angeles, California. Timoteo isn’t just underwear: the company produces everything from shirts, swimwear, fashion tees and other accessories that will help you stand out from the crowd. Unlike the underwear you may be buying in retail stores, Timoteo is made with you in mind meaning it’s all about being stylish, comfortable and fitting you snugly to show off your best assets and features.

For more information on them you can visit their website. Check below for a bit of eye candy and examples of what you can expect from Timoteo’s line of products. You can also follow them on Twitter @TimoteoStudio.

Sticky Pages: Matthew Mitcham for HUNTER Fashion Magazine

You all know how much I enjoy gratuitous displays of skin, jocks, athletes and the combination of all that in one place. HUNTER Fashion magazine sent over these hot pics of Matthew Mitcham who will be featured in its Spring/Summer 2011 issue. Mitcham is an Olympian and openly-gay diver. The article will focus on Mitcham and the connection between sports and homoetroticism. The photos were taken by photographer Julian Hargreaves. Sticky Pages: Joe Jonas in Details April Issue

Joe Jonas Details April 2011One of my favorite celebrities is coming out … as a Details cover boy, that is. Our past featured crush Joe Jonas is Details magazine’s latest cover boy. You all may wonder why and what he’s promoting and the answer is he’s promoting himself! Yes, dear Joe is going solo and finally ditching his brothers. Sure, he’ll probably claim this is temporary and that the boy band isn’t yet finished but I always felt Joe was the Justin Timberlake of the Jonas Brothers; he can sing, he’s good looking, he can act well enough. Ok, that makes him a tad bit better than Timberlake but you get the idea.

Here’s an excerpt from the Details interview:

But who would break up with Joe?

“Some guy,” he says with a laugh.

It’s a nod to the gay rumors he’s been fending off ever since he got into a verbal altercation with some taunting paparazzi earlier this year. “There’s nothing wrong with being gay,” he says now, “but I’m not.” Adding to the buzz, he dressed up in a leotard and heels and danced to “Single Ladies”—to comic effect—to square a sports bet with some buddies. He got the idea from his fans. The video of his performance got more than 25 million hits on YouTube.

But he really did have his heart broken; it was about two years ago, and the young woman was someone in the entertainment world. “I won’t say her name,” Joe says. “But I was in a relationship, and we tried to work things out, and she, you know—I was really upset because she—she broke up with me.” A sadness lingers in his voice.

Sticky Pages: Britney Spears on Out Magazine

Britney Spears Out MagazineIn another interview to promote her upcoming album Femme Fatale, Britney Spears is featured in the April issue of Out  Magazine. The issue features a full interview with Spears titled, “Britney E-Mails Her Heart.” Gotta say I love the nod to Brit’s past and that she’s actually starting to take some adult pics instead of all of those kiddie/pop tart pics we got out of the Circus era. The April issue of Out will not only feature Britney Spears but will also have a special cover and article featuring the one and only Madonna. Sure, the photos are older ones before she was famous but anytime we’re treated to a little Madonna, it’s a good thing. The cover boasts that other women featured in the “Ladies We Love” issue include Wendy Williams, Stockard Channing, Heather Morris, La Roux among others. Not listed? Lady GaGa. Hmmm, curious.

Anyways, back to Britney. Here’s a small part of her interview from Out Magazine.

How is Femme Fatale different from your other albums?
I think Femme Fatale is my most upbeat and mature album yet.

Who are some of the stand out collaborators on Femme Fatale?
I collaborated with Will.I.Am. I am a huge fan of Black Eyed Peas, and I have always wanted to work with him. I also worked with a new up-and-coming artist from the L.A. area named Sabi. She raps on a song I love called “(Drop Dead) Beautiful.”

Assuming reincarnation exists, in a previous life I think I was...
Audrey Hepburn, because she was a trend setter.

Assuming reincarnation exists, in my next life I’d life to be…
A bird, so I can fly.

My idea of hell is…
Being on a diet.

My idea of heaven is…
A trip with my kids.

If you hadn’t become a superstar, what career do you think you would have chosen?
I was in seventh grade and it was career day and I remember thinking that I wanted to be an entertainment lawyer. I always knew I would be in this business somehow. I think this path worked out way better.

What album do you consider life-changing?
Natalie Imbruglia’s Left of the Middle.

Which Disney princess do you relate to most and why?
It depends on the day.

What is the best advice you’ve gotten and who was it from?
My mom said when you have a bad day, eat ice cream. That’s the best advice.

What is the worst advice a record executive ever told you?
Someone once told me that the “…Baby One More Time” video should be me as a superhero fighting a giant robot monster.

Sticky Pages: Britney Spears covers V Magazine

Britney Spears V Magazine1, 2, 3 – it’s Britney Spears times three! Britney is slowly revving up her promotion efforts for her upcoming album Femme Fatale due out on March 29. First up is the cover and interview with V magazine. The photos were shot by photographer Mario Testino and as you can tell from the images below then self-proclaimed Queen of Pop is looking rather refreshed and pop-tastic and considering how Papa Spears has her trapped under lock and key for the most part, it’s not that shocking that she looks well rested and a tad bit excited to see the outside of her mansion and local Starbucks. There are sure to be a few more shots coming from this spread but here are some high res of a few of the shots including one of the three covers that proclaims “The Bitch is back and better than ever.” Britney’s set to do another photo shoot for Out magazine soon and has her big Good Morning America appearance and performance coming up later this month. Are y’all ready for the Brit-zkrieg of press and Britney Spears craziness coming your way? Pick up your issue of V magazine on newsstands March 3.

Sticky Pages: Model Chad White Works It Out for Details Magazine

Chad White Details Magazine March 2011As mentioned a few days ago, men’s lifestyle and fashion magazine Details is going through a bit of a re-vamp this year. They’ve added a new section to its magazine – The Body – and are launching it with a lot of fanfare and attention. Seems like they’re showing a helluva lot more skin in the issue than in the past and I’m definitely a fan. Details has always felt like a closeted magazine: very queer, very homo-erotic photography but it tries a bit too hard to market and come off as straight-acting. I’m definitely glad to see it’s loosening up a bit with The Body. One article in the magazine is all about body-weight exercises you can do (exercises that require no equipment since you use your body as the main resistance/weight) and to help illustrate some moves they tapped popular male model Chad White to show us how get our bodies in shape. I’m usually not a fan of guys in sweats since they’re usually out of shape and nothing you’d want to stare at longer than a few seconds but Chad White definitely makes it all work. Check out more pics from the article below and if you didn’t already read it, see my first post on Details’ new makeover by clicking here.

Sticky Pages: Baptiste Giabiconi “bares” all for Interview Magazine

Interview Magazine February 2011Interview magazine, known for covering the latest in fashion trends, really served up a nice piece in its February issue. One of Karl Lagerfeld’s favorite photo subjects, Baptiste Giabiconi, talks about “Showtime”, the first single from his debut album. Yeah, I really don’t care about that either but I did enjoy the rather revealing photos of him. He’s quoted as saying he has no problem posing nude when it comes to modeling because he just sees it as work. Then Interview punked out and put a little censor box over the part of the photos we’d be most interested in seeing! Darn you censorship! If this were a woman the magazine would have just gone all in and shown all her lady parts – as they’ve done many times. We’ll just have to settle for some pelvic shots and un-manscaped hair. Oh well, we can all enjoy what they did choose to show. Check out pics from the article below.

Sticky Pages: Details Magazines’ The Body Issue

Looks like Details magazine is switching up its game a bit. In an attempt to compete with heavyweight Men’s Health, Details has added a new section to it’s pages – The Body. Frankly, it’s about damn time Details is having more on health and fitness. I used to be a subscriber and just found the countless pages of high priced fashion to be off putting. But heck, ya know I love some skin and looks like they’re willing to show a bit with this new section devoted to fitness and health. The cover features models Sean O’Pry, Arthur Kulkov and Noah Mills who are  part of the Timeless Denim fashion spread. Check out some pics from their fashion spread as well as some pics taken from the new Body feature.

We’re Getting Bigger – New Features on The Man Crush Blog

What started out as a simple little post expressing my thoughts over a hot guy I saw on television has turned into a bit of a guilty pleasure both for me and you, the readers. My reasons for starting this blog was simple – as a gay male who enjoys magazines, there just didn’t seem to be a magazine that fit my needs. There was always something missing or a perspective ignored. As I’ve worked on building up The Man Crush Blog, I’ve viewed it less as a blog and more so as an online magazine experience and as with any magazine, I’ve kept my eye on what’s popular and what brings in an audience. I’m excited to announce that The Man Crush Blog will be expanding a bit to cover more topics, more guys, more hotness and more of my obsessions. As the catch phrase for this blog goes, I want to turn my obsessions into your entertainment. If you haven’t noticed, the blog’s url has changed so be sure to bookmark www.themancrushblog.com or simply subscribe (to the right) to keep up with all the updates. Look out for these new posts/sections coming your way starting this week:

Man Crush of the Day: It’s already in full swing and will be the main feature on this blog. These posts feature hot males (both gay, straight, bisexual and questionable) who are actors in Hollywood, athletes, sports figures, models, musicians and media personalities. These are heavy on pictures to satisfy your craving for eye candy. You can always drop a comment or an E-mail to let us know who you think is “crush” worthy and I just might feature them on the blog.

Fluffer: This year I started mixing in some male adult film stars into the “Man Crush of the Day” posts. You naughty boys and girls seem to enjoy that so those will continue but will be given its own section, “Fluffer.” This new section shine a light on the hot men of the video and adult entertainment industry.

Sticky Pages: Another new section, it’s here where you’ll be able to find updates on men and stories from some of my favorite publications. Every month there’s a load of magazines that are out and most feature some big-time crush worthy photo spreads and men on the covers or within the pages that we tend to miss out on.

Jacked: This section started this year and has thus far been popular amongst the visitors. This is the part of the blog where you’ll find posts about getting yourself a “crush” worthy body. Packed with fitness, exercise, nutrition and muscle-building tips, “Jacked” will help you get yourself in tip top (or bottom) shape in no time.

Beat It: This will now be the new music and entertainment category for this site. Any music reviews written, all the Glee quotes done each week and things and people that keep us dancing and glued to our television sets will now have it’s own space on the blog.

And don’t forget about …

The Man Crush Tumblr: As you may notice, this blog is mostly about pop culture, entertainment and guys you’ve probably seen on television or on movies. Our Tumblr, however, has a bit of everything for everyone. Beware – a lot of the photos are NSFW (not safe for work) and may get you worked up but it’s a necessary part of the “crush” experience. Our Tumblr tends to be a favorite amongst our readers simply because it’s all photos, little words and has a nice diverse spread of guys, both familiar and many amateurs.

Facebook Page: We’re on Facebook and serve up a healthy dose of hotness each day on our page. The photo gallery on our page is being updated to include all of our past featured crushes so that with one click you’ll be able to jump to your favorite crush or one that you may have missed from the past. We also post a “Random Crush of the Day” on our page who’s usually a hunky amateur or model you’re unfamiliar with. Be sure to “Like” us and get these exclusive updates.

Twitter: The easiest way to interact and interact with this blog is on Twitter. Like any gay, I enjoy chatting and getting to know those who’ve helped to make this blog so popular. Follow and Tweet the Man Crush Blog today @man_crush.
